The ability to open multiple projects at the same time is perhaps a feature you thought should’ve been implemented a long time ago, but this omission has finally been rectified. It’s an innovative approach which is triggered by default the first time you launch the software and is well worth checking out to understand where all the tools you need to get started are located, and what they do.

Easy, uncluttered, FAST, VERY FAST!! The best part is that it does not occupy precious desktop space where i am working or shift my desktop so when I am involved working on something the distraction to check this information is very minimally distracting. I just drag the arrow to the lower right corner, Dashboard emerges instantly and instantly i see the weather, all of my stocks and everything else mentioned. The list of widgets grows daily and the range of functions they perform covers a wide gamut. I have found Dashboard quite useful, but usefulness is a function of what widgets are available. I also have OS/x configured so that the dashboard comes up by dragging the arrow to the lower right corner. Dashboard and the widgets generally use little or no CPU time unless they are active and most only use memory in the KiloByte range. One way I’ve read about is to kill the Dashboard on 10.9. Like turning off everything on Star Trek’s Enterprise so you can give power to something else (like the engines or shields), I keep looking for ways to bring a little life back to it. |
